About Mekkan
LLMs theoretically expand the intelligence available to every business. The reality has fallen short. Barbershops, salons, gyms, clinics, restaurants — the operations that actually serve people every day — remain largely untouched by AI.
The gap exists for two reasons:
- Foundation models out-of-the-box are not optimised for the specific, repetitive, customer-facing problems an owner-operator faces each day.
- The interfaces owners need to direct, validate, and trust those models simply do not exist. A chat box isn't a co-worker.
Mekkan solves both.
We engineer around foundation models to adapt them to the tasks owners actually perform — booking, phone calls, daily reporting, demand forecasting, review triage, customer acquisition. And we build interfaces that let owners approve, override, and trustthe AI by default — not the other way around. Leon doesn't send a single message without you saying yes.
This approach has produced two AI capabilities we built and trained ourselves on real beauty industry data, both in production today. One predicts what next week will look like for your shop. The other reads every customer review you receive and surfaces the patterns owners would otherwise miss.
Where we're going.Mekkan was built behind the chair — a decade on the floor in London, in Mayfair, Covent Garden, and Canary Wharf. The first studio we ship to is our own, in London. From there we're rolling out to early pilots in Hornchurch and Ipswich, in hair and beauty first. Coming next — gyms, clinics, dog groomers, and restaurants. Every appointment-driven business where one owner is doing the work of three. The unit of value is the same everywhere: a single AI character your customers and your staff actually know by name, doing the work your team doesn't have hours for.
We are the customer. The first Mekkan studio is our own, and if a feature doesn't work for us, it doesn't ship to anyone.
Our goal is to partner deeply with our first customers and build a category — not chase logos. If you run a business where one owner is doing the work of three, you're the reason Mekkan exists.
